I love Pottery Barn. I haven't come across a person who doesn't yet.
I love getting their catalogs, they are full of awesomeness {that almost never matches my budget}, but they all have so many decorative extras in their catalog to inspire decor!
I found these lovelies in the last catalog I got from them, and I was in love.

So, when I finally had a second to browse some stores, I picked up this glass vase {?} at TJ Maxx for $3.99.

To get started, I printed off some random things to make this project work. Some song lyrics, some sheet music, a Bible verse, the Declaration of Independence, but honestly, after doing this project, I'll tell you, it doesn't matter if your 3 year old sits down at your computer and randomly types things in a cool font. It does not matter.

Next up, I heated up a big pot of water, and dunked some tea bags.

Growing up, my mom tea-stained everything. EVERYTHING. Doilies, fabric, tablecloths, curtains, etc... So, tea-staining things is in my blood.
Ha!
So, I let my water cool to a tolerable temperature for my fingers, and then you just take your paper, and just dunk it on in, and let it hang out.

I waited between like 30 seconds, and a couple of minutes, and then pulled my papers out. I laid them flat on a piece of wax paper to dry out.
After I finished all of my papers, and had them drying in front of a fan, I pulled out these letter blocks.

My mom gave me these years ago. They were some old Christmas decor that she had {they spell out "Christmas", "Noel" "Joy"}, and didn't want anymore. I used them for a few years, but I thought I would try to change them up, and find new uses for them.
So, I grabbed a couple of them, and painted one in a shade of greenish blue, and then left the red ones red. After the greenish/blue one dried, I slapped some antiquing gel on both of them, and then did a quick dry wipe until I liked the look {as usual}.
Next up, my papers were dry, so I gathered them up to get started on rolling them up.

I rolled them up, and tied some with twine, and some with some dark brown string. I also cut some of the papers down to have different sizes.

After I rolled and tied all of them, I added the blocks, and the paper rolls to the vase.

I'm pretty excited about my $3.99 knock off!
