Jules is one of the most fun people I've met in a long time.
Her and I share a deep love for wine, champagne, whipped cream vodka, laughing, crafting, etc.
Ha.
Also, the girl is amazingly talented.

Hello crafty friends!! I am so excited to be a guest of Andrea's. I blog over on Inspired Jules. I share my crafty projects along with bits and pieces about life. I love living an inspired life and staying lovely. You're always welcome over at my little spot in the blogosphere.
Today, I would like to share my spring wreath. I have plans and supplies to make one for my mom, grandmother and mother in law and another for Summer/Fourth of July.
I really love making wreaths. Unfortunately, I can't hang it on my front door to show my neighbors. I can hang them and show them off in my kitchen which is lovely enough for me. :)

I decided to go with gray and preppy colors of white, green, pink and purple. Really love how this came out.

Here's what I used to make the wreath:

{these supplies are for my summer wreath}
2 pieces of felt per flower. (you will have extra, but it's always good to have too much versus not enough)
2 skeins of yarn (I like the thicker yarn)
Favorite hot glue gun
A straw wreath (leave the plastic wrapping on)
cardboard (as a base for your flower)
scissors
Here's the naked wreath:

You should be able to find these at your local craft store in the floral dept. Leave the plastic on!!!!
I used the first skein of yarn to wrap a neat and somewhat lined up first layer:

I used my hot glue gun to anchor the yarn every few inches. I tried not to stress about this layer too much, and used the second skein of yarn to wrap a little looser layer and fill in any gaps.
Now for the flowers. Here is the Craftaholics Anonymous tutorial that I used to make the flowers. I made mine a little bit smaller - around 3.5 inches or so. I wrapped a piece of cardboard in felt as the base because I wasn't using the clips to attach the flowers to my wreath.
I also sewed the felt halves together instead of using hot glue like this:

I used my rag quilt scissors to make lots of snips quickly.
Finally, I played with the arrangement of flowers until I like the setting. Then, I used lots and lots of hot glue to attach the flowers to the wreath. I freaking adore this wreath!!!
Thanks so much Andrea for letting me high jack guest over on your blog! I hope your crafty friends enjoy my little wreath.
